Are you scared of the dentist?

Nottingham dentistry has changed a lot over the years, including treatment like cosmeticdentistryguide.co.uk/articles/root-canal.html and tooth extractions.  Huge numbers of people are scared of visits to the dentist because of outdated concepts of what dentistry is like and the numerous comedic escapades of our best loved TV characters lying, being stubborn and being otherwise hilariously wacky in their attempts to avoid a trip to the surgery. This is a market that dentists have cottoned on to in order to prevent the need to put their dental practice for sale, by finding ways to help such patients.

However this is not the Victorian age, a tooth extraction no longer involves dosing a patient with laudanum, getting to work with a big pair of pliers and then sending them home with a prescription to drink whisky to numb the pain and stave off infection.  Modern dentists are perfectly nice places to visit, especially if a check up means that a potential problem can be noticed and therefore an uncomfortable procedure avoided.

Today’s dentists won’t just strap you into a chair and get to work, whatever is going to be done will be explained to you first so that any apprehensions you might have can be cleared up beforehand, making it a nicer experience for all concerned.

You don’t even have to go in to have any work done, you can make an appointment to see your dentist even if it’s just to ask about something.  Maybe you are considering some form of cosmetic dentistry, or maybe you just want advice on choosing the best toothpaste, whatever it is your dentist is there to help with all your oral hygiene issues, so book in to go see them and you’ll feel a lot better for it.
