What are Inman Aligners and the like?

Inman aligners are a way of moving your front teeth into a more desirable position quickly. Many London dentists now offer them as an alternative to Invisalign braces, which are popular because they are virtually invisible. The Inman aligner works by a system of springs that push and pull the teeth into place.

Advantages of the Inman Aligner

The advantages of the Inman aligner over Invisalign braces are that they are cheaper, you only need one for the entire treatment and they tend to have a faster treatment time. They tend to work in the space of six to sixteen weeks depending on how long you wear them each day. Twenty hours a day is the recommended minimum. For many people, this and the lower cost compensate for the disadvantages of the Inman aligner. As well as this, they are removable so that you can take them out to eat and to clean them.

Disadvantages of the Inman Aligner

The Inman aligner is limited in the movement it can achieve, and only works on some dental jobs. They work particularly well to correct misalignments on the upper or lower front teeth, but are not effective for many other problems. They are also not quite invisible, as they have a metal bar which shows on the front teeth. Not as many London clinics are currently offering the Inman aligner as they do Invisalign, despite the fact they can be very effective. However, there are specific courses for dentists available should you wish to start providing Inman aligners.
